FRAMING
Pastel paintings are extremely fragile unless protected by frames with glass. There are a couple of specific requirements when framing pastel work. The first requirement is to never, ever, EVER spray the finished painting with any kind of sealant or preserver. People do this because they think it will make it easier to handle and protect the image. However, it will forever change the way the color and texture lay on the paper and it won’t look good. You really have to trust me on this one. Please don’t let anyone do this to your painting. The second requirement for framing a pastel painting is to separate the pastel from the glass or the mat. It is inevitable that a small amount of pastel dust is dislodged from the painting itself over time. If the mat or glass comes in direct contact with the painting this small amount of dust will transfer from the painting onto the glass/mat and look ugly. All of the effort that goes into presenting a beautiful painting is lost.
When you buy a painting from me it will arrive framed in a lovely frame that complements the painting and is framed correctly. I charge a minimum amount to frame and ship your painting MUCH LESS THAN WHAT IT WOULD COST TO HAVE IT DONE AT A FRAME SHOP. If you really don’t like the frame I’ve chosen then by all means go ahead and take it to someone who can put it into one you like better. Just remember to tell them: NO SPRAYING and use spacers.
SHIPPING
Every effort is made when shipping your painting to protect it and ensure it will arrive ready to hang. I will pack it and ship it using either UPS or Fedex within a few days of received payment. All package materials are included in your shipping
FEES
The prices you see associated with each painting do not include the framing and shipping fees. I charge $100.00 per painting to correctly frame and ship each painting. This charge is added to your checkout price automatically when you go to the checkout page and enter in your desired purchase. If you are local and are picking up your painting in person then I will adjust the fees accordingly.
